Also known as a diamond drop, a faceted cone or a pendeloque. Turn a brilliant cut diamond upside down and this is the outline: a wide faceted crown at the top narrowing through dozens of small flat faces to a single point at the bottom. Because those facets sit at so many angles at once, the prism catches light from every direction and throws it back as sparkle rather than as one broad flash.

Each decorative glass crystal arrives with a spiral wire hook already fitted at the top, so it goes straight onto a chandelier arm, a candelabra, a vase rim or a shepherd hook with nothing else to buy. It measures approximately 1.25 inches wide by 6.25 inches long.

Wedding planners reach for the diamond drop when they want the most sparkle from the fewest pieces: a run of them down the centre of a head table, a cluster above the cake, or a single crystal tied to each chair back.
