About This Item
The kite cut, a calmer and more architectural crystal than the diamond beside it.
A four sided kite, sometimes called a rhombus or a lozenge drop. It differs from the diamond in the one way that matters: it tapers to a point at BOTH ends rather than only at the bottom, and its faces are large flat triangles instead of many small ones. Big facets give broad, slow flashes of light rather than glitter, which is what makes this prism read modern and quiet next to a diamond drop of the same size.
A spiral wire hook is fitted at the top of every piece, so the decorative crystal hangs from a garland wire, a manzanita branch or a curtain rod without any extra fitting. It shares a footprint with our diamond cut, so the two mix on one string without the line looking uneven.
Choose the kite when the table is already busy. It gives you the shine of a glass crystal without competing with the florals, and it photographs cleanly, which matters on wedding, engagement and anniversary centerpieces that get shot close up.
